Attorney Michael W. Chin
Attorney Michael W. Chin is a Massachusetts licensed attorney and began working as a lawyer at Baker Law Group, P.C. in 2015. Michael concentrates his practice in estate planning, estate administration, elder law, guardianships, and conservatorships. His experience as a lawyer allows him to offer clients comprehensive estate plans to manage their wealth utilizing estate planning devices, elder law planning, and asset protection.

Attorney Chin specializes in estate law and is committed to providing exceptional estate planning that is personalized and shaped by each client’s unique circumstances. He has experience preparing trusts, last wills and testaments, health care proxies, living wills, powers of attorney, as well as special needs and nominee trusts.
When a loved one passes, the process of passing on the deceased’s property and assets can be complicated and rigorous, especially during such a solemn occasion. Attorney Chin has experience working with courts, banks, insurance companies, and financial institutions in order to resolve issues with the estate administration process. The amount of complex and time sensitive documents required to pass on property and assets can be overwhelming. Attorney Chin will make sure that the estate administration process goes as fast and simple as possible and will ensure that clients receive everything they are rightfully entitled to.
A Compassionate Approach to Guardianship and Conservatorship:
Guardianships and conservatorships are used to allow for a third-party to handle the medical, personal, and/or financial affairs of an incapacitated individual. As an attorney with experience with guardianships and conservatorships, he understands the significant difficulties faced by those who require a guardianship or conservatorship and their loved ones. His experience includes assisting those with mental disabilities, substance abuse, the elderly, and minors. He understands that each and every case is different and requires an approach shaped by their set of unique circumstances. While the nature of guardianships and conservatorships may be stressful, Attorney Chin will work with clients to ensure the needs of their loved ones are met.
Michael graduated with honors from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Legal Studies. Michael received his law degree from Suffolk University Law School. Michael is admitted to the Massachusetts Bar.
Attorney Chin is a member of the Asian American Lawyers Association of Massachusetts (AALAM), BNI South Shore Success, and Massachusetts Bar Association. His associations help him stay up to date in the areas of estate planning, estate administration, elder law, guardianships, and conservatorships. He is strongly committed to Pro Bono volunteer work and his community and is a regular volunteer for the Volunteer Lawyers Project.
Michael grew up in the South Shore and currently resides in Canton. He enjoys spending time outdoors, especially snowboarding, hiking, and rock climbing.
