Prior to becoming a wills trust and estate attorney, Michael was an independent financial planning advisor, providing integrated financial, estate and investment planning strategies to individual and business clients. During this time, he regularly advised businesses on their benefit plans, how to retain key employees and on crafting business succession plans, including employer-sponsored retirement and insurance plans, which were tailored to meet the needs and the financial goals of the companies.
Attorney Baker also served as a lobbyist for the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants and was a legislative aide in Washington, D.C. for former U.S. Senator Christopher Dodd of Connecticut.
A graduate of Syracuse University with a B.A. in Political Science, Policy Studies and Economics, Attorney Baker received his law degree from the Suffolk University Law School. He also completed substantial coursework towards a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Massachusetts Boston. He was admitted to the Massachusetts Bar in 2005.

Michael lives with his family on the South Shore of Boston in Cohasset. Previously a resident of Holliston, Massachusetts, he was elected to the Planning Board of Holliston.
